Witches Gulch - A Meteorological Marvel

Anyone who's taken the local Boat Tours to Witches Gulch knows they don't give you enough time to take it all in before you're back on the boat to continue the tour.  Despite the limited time people are allowed in the Gulch, an eerie chill incongruent with the day's weather is consistently reported.

I finally got a chance to bring my instruments on an extended evening hike at Witches Gulch, and it's NOT your imagination. The temperature was indeed 12 degrees cooler inside the Gulch than the surrounding area!  People have explained away the temperature shift, but I'm not convinced any "science" can account for that much of a difference. It's like being in a cave!

Now, I don't think it's Witches. I think more likely it's haunted, and my EMF readings support the theory! But by who, you ask?  Probably the ghosts of the Natives who are mad about tourists trampling all over their land at exorbitant prices.  I'm sure the Ho Chunk ancestors are rolling in their graves over how much it costs to go on that tour!

Do you still think it's witchcraft? Why?

Stay vigilant, stay weird!
